I was raised by parents who believed all people are created equal and the purpose in life is to help those that need it. My husband and I raised our children to believe and speak out about the same things. After spending too many decades on the sidelines with a broken heart about the lack of civil liberties and racial justice for all, I decided to devote more of my energy to creating change.

My professional journey started in advertising at Leo Burnett in Client Services where I worked for 10 years.  I helped current and new global clients such as McDonalds and Johnny Walker, create and execute marketing and advertising strategies based on research, data analysis and creativity. Soon after the birth of my first child, I took a break from corporate America and began to teach yoga, something I had learned to control stress and as a way to survive my long days in advertising. I have studied various types of yoga and have helped to train yoga teachers in Chicago and the North Shore. Five years into teaching I got my degree in Integrative Nutrition and have designed different nutrition and lifestyle programs to help be yogis, CEO’s and collegiate athletes, enhance their performance and their daily lives. Although I continue to teach both yoga and nutrition, I have been yearning to do more in our community.  It is because of this and many other reasons that I am know choosing to follow my heart and mind, leveraging the totality of my experiences to effect the greater good.
